Orthodontics for Kids

Orthodontic care for children is about more than just straight teeth—it’s about setting the foundation for lifelong oral health. By evaluating a child’s bite, jaw development, and airway as early as age 7, we can identify concerns before they become more complex. Early treatment may involve appliance therapy to help guide jaw growth, support proper breathing, and create space for incoming teeth. As your child grows, we offer a range of gentle and effective options, including traditional braces and Invisalign® for kids, to help them smile with confidence every step of the way.

Here’s why orthodontics is important for kids:
Orthodontics during childhood plays a key role in promoting healthy development—not just for the smile, but for overall well-being. Addressing alignment, bite issues, and jaw growth early on can prevent more serious problems in the future, such as difficulty chewing, speech challenges, or airway concerns. Early care can also boost a child’s confidence and make future treatment simpler and more effective. By guiding the growth of the teeth and jaws at the right time, we help create a foundation for a lifetime of healthy function and beautiful

When to Start Orthodontics:
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that children have their first orthodontic evaluation by age 7, or when their first permanent molars (often called “six-year molars”) have erupted. At this stage, a mix of baby and adult teeth allows orthodontists to identify subtle issues with jaw growth, bite alignment, and the spacing of incoming teeth. While your child may not need treatment right away, an early consultation helps us monitor development and intervene at the ideal time—making future treatment more efficient and often less invasive.
